Welcome to the NICview - Rotary joint club website. Our objective is to share with you the exciting joint
venture between District 7910 Rotary clubs and a successful pre-natal program at the UMass Medical school
and UMass Memorial Hospital directed by Dr. Alan Picarillo. One goal is educational --- we want to share our excitement and practical steps that may be taken to enable future growth. Another goal is to illustrate that this
is a project well worth Rotary club investment.
From a technical perspective NICview is actuallly a computer. It has webcam video capabilities that allow families to view their babies at any time through a secure connection from their home computer or phone, wherever in the world they are. It was developed with high security in mind and the privacy of each and every child is fully guaranteed. There are no costs associated with using the system.
Here's how the Rotary part of NICVIEW worked. Rotary clubs supported cameras which provided live views of premature babies (preemies) in their cribs --- viewable by parents, friends, physicians.........the project also welcomed support from businesses and individuals....
Comprehensive Project Overview
Here is a comprehensive illustrated overview of the successul project you can share with your Rotary clubs, partners and prospective partners going forward..

use, improve upon and share! We offer two versions, one a Word doc and
the other a pdf you can edit easily.
We also include a brief video as an example of UMASS NICView training

Our first donor story was from Bob Mangan of the Rotary Club of Worcester. Its a fascinating tale of bringing his employer and other clubs to make major contributions to NICVIEW. Click here to read his personal testimony about how to leverage support. If you have a question for Bob drop him an email at email@example.com. We asked Bonnie Doolin (firstname.lastname@example.org), Rotary Club of Marlborough's 2012-13 president and activist in you activities, to reflect on the strategy she and her club used for youth engagement and a Rotaract camera donation….a prime Rotary need and door to our future. Click here for Bonnie's story . Check out a photo from the meeting in which her check was presented.
